Ek hou baie van witboskraaie, maar nie genoeg om van die liedjie te hou nie. II

(I uploaded this post in two chunks since Livewriter was giving issues again - The start of this post is a bit further down)

3. Played around with some large scale brush lettering on my walls and windows outside. (Dont ask me what the words mean, they are either just random letters that I wrote in sequence or they were random words that I saw/heard somewhere else at that moment)

5. Did some smaller scale brush typography work too.

Ek hou baie van witborskraaie, maar nie genoeg om van die liedjie ook te hou nie.

1. Went to Jeffrey’s Bay from Wednesday till Sunday. Found some badass rocks on the beach. (judging from the quality of the picture I seriously need to get some cash for a new scanner)

2. Forgot to mention in my previous update that my brother and me fooled around in Adobe After Effects for a bit Sunday a week ago. Check out his distro too.

Ek het laas week besluit dat vir 'n onbepaalde hoeveelheid tyd elke stuk werk wat ek produseer van 'n volsin titel moet beskik!

1. Finished an initial prototype of  my thesis’ Conceptual Framework (Problem Statement, Purpose Statement & Research Questions). Currently waiting for feedback- if it is deemed up to standard (or if not, once I get it up to standard) I will start with the actual physical writing. Personally very happy with it.

2. I’m actually pretty sad about the whole thing, since I’ve been reading and conceptualizing now for more than a year. I’ve become so accustomed to just considering and reconsidering things, that its scary to think its a point now where I have to commit to something concrete.

3. Worked at the gallery on Wednesday, did some koki and colouring pencil drawings on the train back and forth.

4. My small scale farming exploits have grossly exceeded my expectations. Its been about a month now and my tomato plants are totally dominating (can I underline that? yes.), to the point where i think its crushing my other plants. (Yes they are held upright by sticks and bull-dog clips, the same clips i used in my exhibition last year)

So I need to find some time during next week to move them to an actual piece of earth next to my room. I’m stoked at the idea of having a functional vegetable garden. With the extra space I think i’ll get something badass like a pumpkin. or potatoes.

Die Eensaamheid van Antagonisme

  Untitled-1

1. Discovered XMind. It Changed my Life.

2. Mapped my Writing & Thought Process. Since things tend to get really messy once your in the deep end of such a large project. It’s always nice to have an Anchor that you can reference, to determine the next step in the process.

3. I realised that for most of my life I’ve been unable to construct proper Full Sentences. (This blog doesn’t count, since it’s a Stream of Consciousness). I reviewed some concepts that were discussed in those High School English Classes I used to bunk.

4. I started doing some personal Illustrations in my free time again.

Die woord as woord

hUntitled-2  Untitled-1

1. Read Dissertation Writing: A Research Journey by Cecile Badenhorst. Really enjoyed it.

2. Worked through the mechanics of two former Masters Degree Thesisses:

The Illustrated Children's  Bible as Cultural Text in the Constrution of Afrikaner National Identity by Louis Barnard
and
The Floating City: Carnival, Cape Town and The Queering of Space by Ernst van der Wal

Was suprised at how long it takes to read through a single thesis, planned to work through a considerable larger quantity.
